Joe Gallo is a New Jersey native with his roots firmly planted in entertainment, beginning with his own jazz trio, in which he performed as both singer and drummer. The group played in many popular venues including Rodney Daingerfield’s, The Copa Cabana, The Pines, The Steel Pier and the 500 Club in Atlantic City.
Before relocating to Branson, Missouri, Joe was a popular musical and comedy performer for The Music Theatre of Wichita and throughout Kansas, performing in Hello Dolly, Rags, Phantom, Destry Rides Again, Damn Yankees, Anything Goes, The Baker's Wife, and Children of Eden.
For the past seven seasons, Joe has co-starred in "The Promise," portraying a character called The Auditioner/Narrator. In this role, Joe is the bridge between stage and audience as the life of Jesus is presented. Joe's performance and rich baritone voice has drawn excellent reviews and garnered him 1997 and 1999 All American Entertainment Award nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year and Gospel Artist of the Year, respectively. "The Promise," with Joe, has logged over 2500 performances to date. Joe is also featured as Mary's father, Joachim, in matinee performances of "Two From Galilee." In the year 2000 Joe was nominated as one of Branson's favorite Master of Ceremonies by AAEA and was also awarded that distinction in 2001. Joe has recently performed the role of Tevye, in "Fiddler on the Roof” at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska and also at the Music Theatre of Wichita, Wichita, and Ks. In addition to his role in "The Promise," Joe has appeared in other Branson productions, including "Golden Girls, U.S.A." - A Tribute to Veterans, singing songs of the Big Band Era of the 40's as well as appearing as Elijah McAdoo in a Seven Brides for Seven Brothers type musical production for the inaugural season of the Showboat Branson Belle. He has received rave reviews for live performances from The 1894 Opera House on Galveston Island, Texas to the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio and all throughout the Midwest. From Connecticut to Oklahoma and Nevada, Joe has entertained audiences across America. Joe has recorded numerous projects. His latest ones are a CD recording of show tunes as well as love ballads entitled, "I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore." This compilation of recordings by Joe radiates love in his life and his music. It includes Sunrise, and Sunset from "Fiddler on the Roof." Joe was also featured singing the title song on "The Touch of the Master's Hand," a compilation of Branson Artists and appears in the video of the same name. His latest recording titled, "The Rivers of Water" is an inspirational album consisting of 14 songs. Many of the songs are brand new. ASCAP and Golden Award Winner, Lynda Lynn of Branson, wrote some especially for Joe.
