Having started singing Elvis from an early age, JK
was also a massive fan as the Elvis movies and concerts he watched had a
huge impact. Knowing he wanted to sing he did so at every opportunity and
was wowing the crowds by the time he was 17.
As his tastes grew, Joseph joined a band in 1990 named Compulsive Issue, a
rock covers band based in East Anglia. As their front man, he felt awkward
not playing an instrument and so taught himself how to play the guitar. In
1992 he moved to Sardinia where he formed his first band named Tramp. This
was again a covers band but this time having two Italian band members he
widened his repertoire to incorporate some local tastes.
1995 saw another move, this time back to the UK. By this time, the
established musician and singer formed another line up called Nightshift.
This line up evolved into a group of four musicians; all at the top of their
game. This time incorporating own material written by JK they changed there
name to Merlin. They toured the UK and were one of the top live acts on the
circuit, performing at festivals, clubs and corporate events.

Their sound was so raw and energetic yet very tight that nobody could match
them on stage for pure performing power. It was said that JK's voice was so
powerful he could whisper across three fields! Unfortunately due to
circumstance, Merlin parted company in 1998. Each went their separate ways
and Joseph went solo!
After a stint in the Gulf performing to American
Troops deployed there, he returned and developed his first love in music,
namely his Elvis Show. Coupling this with his Voice of Tom Jones Show, he
then toured Spain and Portugal working in 4 and 5 star hotels. The guests
were so amazed that some thought he was actually miming
One guest even said after seeing him perform as the voice of Tom Jones that
"With a voice like that he must be Welsh"! However, from this requests for
him as Elvis soared. Big names like SonyBMG, BBC TV and designer label
Russell Athletic all wanted him to either appear at their events or in the
case of the latter, model their clothing in an International Ad Campaign.

Today JK is performing for Corporate heavyweights and
private functions alike as well as television and radio appearances.
Recently JK got together with the guitarist from Merlin and together created
acoustic duo Corleone. The magic is still there they both agree and may
someday have a Merlin reunion gig. Neither have written the idea off and in
recent talks with the other two band members the idea received a unanimous
decision, so who knows.
With everything else JK has also
managed to put together a show performing swing classics under the name of
Sounds Like Swing.
Joseph King is a versatile and seasoned entertainer. If you would like him
